Mixed Race & The Arts

The theme for the People in Harmony Annual Conference 2010  - 'Mixed Race & The Arts' - gave a celebration and exploration of life by mixed race people through various artistic media. The programme showcased mixed race perspectives on hip hop, poetry, painting, photography and drama. Download the programme here

  • Dr Kevin Searle: "A Socio-Genetic Experient': Hip Hop and the 'Mixed-Race' Experience"
  • Tara Munroe, curatorial trainee: "Hidden Secrets of the Past: The Unveiling of the Casta Paintings"
  • Gloria Ojulari Sule, artist: "The Threads of My Journey"
  • Amaka Okafor, actor: "Cast"
  • Nicole Moore, writer/poet: "The Journey So Far"
  • Tenee Attoh, film maker/photographer:"Tones & Textures"

Access to the building is good with an enclosed garden at the rear. There is a small car park in the grounds of the meeting house and if you're traveling by tube or train to Ealing Broadway Station it is less than 10 minutes walk away.

  • 11.30am - 1.00pm ... Members business meeting
  • 1.00pm - 2.00pm ... Members lunch (please bring food)
  • 2.00pm - 5.00pm ... Talks and discussions
